The Ruger SFAR (Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle) is crafted to combine the power of an AR-10 with the portability of an AR-15. Chambered in 7.62 NATO/.308 Win, it is available with two barrel lengths: 16.1 and 20". The rifle features a direct gas impingement system with a four-position gas regulator, allowing for versatile use with different ammunition types and suppressors. Its cold hammer-forged barrel, made from 4140 chrome-moly steel, has a 1:10 twist rate and 5R rifling to enhance accuracy. The SFAR is equipped with a Ruger Boomer muzzle brake, which helps reduce recoil. Its construction includes a small bolt assembly similar to that of an AR-15, which contributes to its lightweight design without compromising durability. The rifle includes a 15-inch M-LOK handguard for accessory mounting, a full-length Picatinny rail on the upper receiver, and Magpul MOE SL furniture—adjustable stock and pistol grip. The Ruger Elite 452 two-stage trigger provides a crisp 4-pound, 3-ounce pull, and the enlarged magazine well accepts a 20-round Magpul PMag.
